A study published this year looked at the injury trends in trail runners. In this study, the authors reviewed previous work on trail running injuries and found that the knee was the most common area of injury for trail runners. The ankle and Achilles tendon were also common injuries areas for trail runners. The authors report that the study could lay the groundwork for developing injury prevention programs, which may help reduce the injury risk for trail runners.
